THE SPANISH TAX LAW IS MISUNDERSTOOD BUT PEOPLE GET CAUGHT HERE..

The report in THE DAILY MAIL said that Lionel Messi after found guilty of not paying his tax in Spain was fined 226,000 two hundred and twenty-six thousand pounds as fine. But he had made it very clear at a interview , the other day that he wanted to leave Spain and not Barcelona, as he was not happy with the Spanish tax law here. He wanted to leave in the year2017. So let us try and understand what really was this tax fraud case against Lionel Messi and his father Jorge Messi. It is very clear here that the tax fraud did not apply to his salary money . But here what happened was that these footballers make a lot of money from endorsements , from around the world. So the footballers have made say all this money in the U.S.A with a company say COCO COLA. Then the financial advisor had suggested here to Lionel Messi to invest it anywhere but in Spain. Now these people do listen and do so. But the Spanish tax law says that if you are paying your taxes in Spain then even that money got from any other country must be accounted in your taxes in Spain yearly. Many famous people have fallen prey to this misunderstood law. Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano, Xavi Alonso, Jose Mourinho, Raphael Nadal Diego Forlan even the princess of Spain. All have been to caught for this mistake.
