THIS IS WHY ARSENAL MISSED OUT IN SIGNING CRISTIANO RONALDO IN THE YEAR 2003.

It is a well known fact that Arsenal wee very close to sign the Portuguese supper footballer Cristiano Ronaldo from the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon in the year 2003. And both Arsene Wenger and Cristiano Ronaldo have agreed that this is the truth. Arsene Wenger who was the manager of Arsenal for a period of 22, twenty two years, had invited Cristiano Ronaldo for a trial at Arsenal, in fact Cristiano Ronaldo and his mother had not one but had made ten trips to Arsenal and had ten trials, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal were very pleased with what they saw during the trials. But Arsenal were having big money problem then, the real reason being Arsenal wee building their new football stadium called THE EMIRATES STADIUM, at a huge cost of 640, six hundred and forty million pounds. So they were delaying in finalising the buying of Cristiano Ronaldo. But then during that time Manchester United played a friendly football match in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, and during that match Cristiano Ronaldo, tormented the Manchester United's midfield and defence ran ragged. Philip Neville ad a nightmare of 90 ninety minutes. Sir Alex and Manchester United players demanded that Manchester United buy Cristiano Ronaldo. And at that time the assistant manager at Manchester United was Carlos Queiroz, who then flew to Portugal and he convinced the mother and son that Manchester United and sir Alex Ferguson was the club for young Cristiano Ronaldo. And as money was not a problem or Manchester United , who then paid a sum f 12.5 twelve and a half million pounds to buy Cristiano Ronaldo, and the rest is history. But what I would like to point out is that what would Arsenal have been like, if Cristiano Ronaldo ad signed for Arsenal? With strikers like Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp , Kanu and Cristiano Ronaldo , it would be scary for sure.
