In the year 1992/1993 the French club Olympique Marseille had gone and won the Champion League final. And they had very good players like Didier Deschamps , Rudi Voller , and A. Pele.They had a very strong defence as well..
That year Olympique Marseille became the very first French club in the Champion League history to go and win the champion league for the year 1992/1993.
But this joy was sadly very short lived , as U.E.F.A had proven beyond doubt that the then owner of Olypique Marseille Mr Bernard Tapie , had indeed gone and played dirty in French football by having many games match fixed.
Olyipique Marseille were stripped of the Champion league title.
Tis was the first time the champion League winner history was a champion winner disqualified and lost the trophy.
Mind you a club from France is still waiting to lift a Champion League trophy.
