Onel Hernandez has become the vey first Cuban to play in the English Premier League history and it is indeed very doubtful tat the Cubans even know that their fellow country man plays for a English club.
He comes from a small sleepy town called Moran in Cuba. Now Cuba are a country where football is not at all popular, they play more baseball, basketball and boxing, few ae famous atheletes.
A German tourist fell in love with Onel Hernandez's mother and took her to Germany , she was a single mother in Cuba, first the German man refused to sign the documents to get her son to Germany , but he finally did agree and both mother and son flew to Germany to the city of Gutersloh , near Dortmund.,. Now his step father was a football coach and he got him to join the German club Bielefeld in the year 2010 he joined this club and the coach was the former German Christian Ziege ,he then made his debut for the German under 18, he was 17 years old.
He was sold to Norwich city , the in the second division for 2.2 two point two million pounds.
He scored eight goals and had ten assists as well he played a big part in seeing Norwich City promoted for the 2019/2020 season.
