IN THE 1950 WORLD CUP ENLAND WERE DEFATED BY THE U.S.A .

 Now  just after the world war 2 ,  was over  and countries were recovering from he damages in proberites   like houses, Schools and bridges .There was no world cup from the year  1938 to 1950.
 The U.S.A and European countries  said that they had no money to hold a world cup in  either continent. They wanted all the money possible to rebuild their countries.
 But hen Brazil came forward to hold the world cup in the year 1950, and the world cup was saved.
 In the 1950 world cup  held in Brazil,  England were playing in their very first world cup and  were hot favourites to win   the world cup that year.

 England was grouped  with the U.S. A, Chile, Spain and England were in the same group,. 

 England won their first match beating Chile 2-0. But they then lost to the unheard f U.S.A  , England lost 1-0. And they then lost out  to Spain 1-0 .

 The loss to the U.S.A was a very big  shock for England , as 70, seventy years ago the U.S.A  hardly played football. You can imagine the English were  shell-shocked.
