He had been an Arsenal player for quite a few years, including a few loan deals as well..
Now Emiliano Martinez took over as the Arsenal goalkeeper after their German goalkeeper Bern Leno was injured at the e nd of the last season. He did well with Arsenal, winning the F.A. Cup and the Community Shield.
But it appears he got fed up playing second fiddle to Bern Leno, and wanted to wear the jersey number one, this season..
As he did not get his way he demanded for a transfer.
