THE DARKEST DAY IN FOOTBALL HISTORY WAS 1/3/1981.

 1/3/1981 is the darkest day in football history.

 On this day Enrique Castro Quine  was kidnapped and held hostage for a period  of 25 , twenty five days and a ransom of 500,000 pounds. was demanded by the kidnappers. The group were a separatist called the 

The Separatist of Catalonia  and Espanyol. On 1/3/81, after a Barcelona match against Hercules . which Barcelona won-  6-0. He went home  to freshen up , but his life changed three men came with guns home and kidnapped him,and kept him for 25, twenty five days as a prisoner.

 The wife was surprised  not to see him at the airport, and she got even-more worried seeing the lights in a empty house . The police acted swiftly and Spaniards lover of football came on the streets, with banners pleading for his safety and return.

 This did affect the Barcelona players badly they failed to win five games in a row,and Atletico  Madrid won their match as well as their title.

 The kidnappers  just did not want Enrique Castro Quine , to play for Barcelona.. The kidnappers demanded 500,000 five hundred thousand pounds to be transferred into a  Swiss bank account and when 50,00 fifty thousand was withdrawn Police arrested the kidnapper.
