In the year 1982 Napoli signed the Argentinean striker come midfielder Diego Maradona from Barcelona, as he had a few fights with the Barcelona players and fans as well and he suffered a few injuries as well. Barcelona signed Diego Maradona , for a then sum of 5,five million pounds, and this was a world record then.
Napoli then paid Barcelona 7,seven million pounds. to sign Diego Maradona, , this as also a new world record.
But why was paying seven Million pounds so very risky.
Napoli were bouncing at he relegation clubs and to spend seven million pounds and to play the following year in the second division was a very bold move I would say. But it paid handsomely a few trophies a and ony titles won bt the club till today.
