But Barcelona refused the offer in the year 2003.
But why did Barcelona reject such a good offer from Sporting Lisbon./
The reason-was that Barcelona had already paid for buying two footballers and both were costly and at Barcelona they did very well.

And we must not forget was they also had Lionel Messi on the verge of playing for Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga.
