Wan the year 2012 calendar year Lionel Messi went and scored a new world record of a total of 91, ninety one goals. And so he broke the record for most goals scored in a calendar year .
The previous record was held by the Bayern Munich and West German footballer Gerd Muller,who was lovingly called the BOMBER. He scored 85 , eighty five goals.
What many people are not aware of is that in that year 2012 Lionel Messi was injured with a serious hamstring injury,and it takes over three weeks for a hamstring injury to get alright. But Lionel Messi missed a total of eight weeks due to this injury , in other words he missed out two full months of football in the year 2012
So it is anybody's guess if he was fit ,then how many goals would he have scored.
