GLEN JOHNSON TO SIGN FOR A.S.ROMA.

It is reported in THE METRO that the Liverpool right back Glen Johnson , who is getting weekly salary of 120,000 pounds , has now decided to move on to a club in Italy , the Club is A.S.Roma, the club Ashley Cole joined last year from Chelsea. It is also said that Glen Johnson could very well sign the contract in a short period of say 48 hours even. Glen Johnson joined Liverpool from Portsmouth , when Portsmouth were relegated into the second division and had points cut for falling into the hands of a administrator .

Liverpool are indeed very eager to sign this Brazilian right back Dani Alves , who is playing for Barcelona at the moment. He will be a free agent at the end of the season. Liverpool want Dani Alves to replace their present right back Glen Johnson , who joined Liverpool from Portsmouth a few years ago. But is this a wise move? As you see Dani Alves is now 31 years old so when he joins Liverpool he could well be 32 years well into his twilight years at football. At Barcelona he even made a few costly mistakes. GLEN JOHNSON REJECTS LIVERPOOL FOR A.S.ROMA.

Glen Johnson the Liverpool defender has flatly rejected a new contract at Liverpool, as his contract does expire at the end of the season. Liverpool wanted to make Glen Johnson take a huge pay cut in his new contract, it was a fifty percent wage cut. So Glen Johnson is now joining A.S.Roma in Italy along with Ashley Cole , who joined them last year, after all he is thirty years old now. At present Glen Johnson is getting a weekly salary of a 100,000 pounds, and Liverpool wanted to pay him just 50,000 pounds a week, just imagine that!

PORTHSMOUTH ARE BANNED FROM BUYING PLAYERS.

The English football club Porthsmouth are banned from buying any players till they pay up all the debt they owe to other football clubs. They owe both Arsenal and Liverpool money for these two players Lassana Diarra and Glen Johnson. They are also at the bottom of the 2009-2010 E.P.L. But there is no gloom and doom yet.
