HE WAS THE FIRST MILLION POUND FOOTBALLER..

Way back in the year on the date 9/2/1979 Trevor Francis of England became the first footballer in history to be sold for a million pounds. Mind you it was a very huge amount in those days for a club to spend on a single player, gone are those days when managers got players for say 25,000 twenty five thousand pounds. The first footballer to be sold for a million pounds was Trevor Francis when Brian Clough the manager of Nottingham Forest, paid Birmingham one million pounds for him. But Brian Clough and Trevor Francis won the champion league 1n theyear1979.

PLAYERS COULD EASILY BE PAID THO HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS A WEEK.

It is looking more and more likely that players at big clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea , Arsenal and Liverpool could easily get a weekly salary of 200,000 pounds a week, now Eden Hazard has just signed a new contract getting 200, 000 pounds. And in another five years time players the best of the lot could easily draw 500,000 pounds a week. The question is where is all this crazy paying leading us, the thought is scarry. It was far from the salary of say the first million pound transfer, Trevor Francis.

 Today the footballers are far to greedy , and it is a fact, long time service or for only one club  are over.
Trevor  Francis  became the first million pound footballer.
 Nigel Martin became the first one million as well as the two million pound goalkeeper.
Dennis Brgkamp broke a Arsenal and British record he cost Arsenal 7.5 million pounds, he played for Arsenal for  eleven long years  won both F.A and E.P.L trophies.
Alan Shearer cost Newcastle 18 million pounds, mind you he was at his peak in the Euro 1996. And Newcastle have not won a E.P.L, F.A or Carling cup in ages,
 Both Eric Cantona came so cheap to Manchester United  , but he woke up the sleeping giant Manchester United.
