SPANISH PRESS SAY TORRES MAY JOIN BARCELONA.

The Spanish press says that Liverpool may be forced to sell Fernando Torres and Gerrard. This is mainly due to the huge debts owed to the banks , by the American owners.Torres says that he will like to join Barcelona if he is ever forced out of Liverpool. The amount from these two players will be huge.And then the stories are going around like , Rafael Benitez will get the sack and Mourinho will take over. But we must not get carried away.
Because I doubt any of that money will reach the club.The two Yankees will use it to pay up the debt they owe the banks. That is what happened when they sold their Baseball team The Texas Rangers and the N.H.L team The Montreal Canadians. Not a penny reached the Liverpool club it went to the bank. So let us not get carried away by some Spanish press , who always write these things at the time of president elections at Real Madrid and Barcelona.

MR COOK SAYS MANCHESTER CITY WILL BE THE BEST CLUB.

Garry Cook the chairman of Manchester city claims that the club will be he greatest club ever. but I would like to remind Mr Cook and the Manchester City fans , not to get carried away . In the first year they had a debt of 92 million ponds. And with the money spent on players in 2009 , it will increase greatly . And all the goals are coming from Carlos Tevez only.It is ages since Bellamy , Wright Philips orGareth Barry have scored any goals.They are there in that number because of Shay Given and Tevez. even the two ex Arsenal players have failed badly and so has Lescott failed. He is half the player he was at Everton.If a City player can score frm their midfielders like say Rosicky Fabregas, Giggs,Gerrard do regularely in a season over 12 goals then only can Mr Cook boast oe even hope. money will not win silverware, and that is clear.Lok at Barcelona and Real Madrid, Xavi Hernandez Gutti got goals in sacks in their time.

RAFAEL BENITEZ WOULD HAVE BEEN SACKED IF AT ANY OTHER CLUB.

The Spaniard Rafael Benitez long ago if he had been at any other club . Like Arsenal, manchester ,United, Barcelona , Real Madrid or Chelsea.As the results have not been good for Liverpool this year. True injuries will be there and now 12 are injured and both Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are to undergo operations , this means since both will be out for weeks Liverpool may slip further in the table. On sunday 25/10/2009 the loyal Liverpool fans came out in the thousands to support their club, even at these difficult times. They organised the silent march to Anfield in protest against the the two American owners of Liverpool F.C.Mr Tom Hicks and Mr George Gillett. The fans blame them for the problems at the club and their big debt now they face. Now if they can not get funds they may have to sell their cream of players like Steven Gerrard , Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano and Dirk Kuyt. This the fans will not like. Already Real Madrid have offered 30 million pounds for Gerrard.
The main reason for the march was that both the owners would be at Anfield for the match verses Manchester United,.

ALL GLOOM AND DOOM AT LIVERPOOL.F.C.

There is great gloom and doom at the famous Liverpool club. AS they have fallen by the wayside this year again, so it looks like they will have no E.P.L trophy for twenty years.But there is more serious worries beside injuries to Stephen Gerrard and Fernando Torres. This time it is financial problems, in a very big way to.The two American owners of Liverpool Mr George Gillette and Mr Tom Hicks, have been given till June 2010 to pay up their money taken on loan to buy Liverpool. The Royal Bank of Scotland and the Wells Fargo bank have told the two owners that they must generate funds quickly.
So George Gillette has sold 80%percent of his share in his ice hockey team he owns. And Liverpool have parted ways with their long time sponsoror Carlsberg Beer. And their new ones will be The Standard Chartered Bank which is realy a good one.
And even if this does not work Liverpool will be forced to sell players like Stephen Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano and Dirk Kuyt.
To generate funds hopefully George Gillette flew to Saudi Arabia to meet with prince Faisal bin Abdullah.But nothing came out of it.

The English premier league spent a total of 504 million Euros on their playersBut the clubs spent 100 million Euros more last year.
1) Manchester City and its Dubai oil money helped them to spend 140 million Euros. But at the same time they only recovered 13.62 million Euros from selling players.
2)Liverpool have spent 45.40 million Euros. And the club have recovered the same amount from sales. The sale of Xavi Alonso to Real Madrid for about 30 million Euros did help them. But the two American Owners of Liverpool have debt of over 400 million Euros.But at the same time Liverpool players like Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Xavier Maschareno have been given better wages to keep them at the club.
3) Manchester United have spent about 22.70 million Euros and have collected a total of 94.75 million Euros. They are not keen to throw any money around at these times.
But the Glazers are in a debt of over 730 million Euros.
4) Chelsea have spent 22.12 million Euros. and recoverd only6.80 million Euros.But both John Terry and Ashley Cole were given huge wage increase that is each will get 150,000 pounds a week as salary.
5) Arsenal have spent 11.35 million Eurosand have recovered 46.5 million Euros.Helped by the sale of Kolo Toure and Emanuel Adebayor.
The Primera Liga clubs have spent 477 million Euros. Real Madrid and Barcelona have spent a total of 75 percent of the money Spanish clubs paid.

LIVERPOOL VERSES TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS.

This match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs both the teams were well balanced ,But as Liverpool had sold Xavi Alonso to Real Madrid for a huge amount of 30 million pounds.The thought on every ones mind was the apsense of Alonso make a big differnce? And by the end it did make a difference as Fernando Torres was not fed well enough like in the old days and Rafael Benitz has no excuse for the poor show by Liverpools display. Robbie Keane had a total of four very good chances which he failed to take. But the goal did come in the end and it was the deffender Assou Ekotto who kicked brilliant ball like a cannonball into the net to scoore the first goal,till then Pepe Reina kept the score at 0-0, then afte4r the first goal scored by Spurs. Then in the second half Gomes ran from his line and brought down the new boy Glen Johnson who joined from Portsmouth, this lead to a penalty, and Stephen Gerrard scored it to draw Equal in the 56th minute. But the Joy was short lived 3 minutes later the new signng from Newcastle United Sebastin Bassong headed in the winner. Both the Spur goals were scored by deffenders.
But the big talkingt point here is was Sebastin Bassong legally allowed to play this match, as he was shown his second yellow card and should serve a one game ban, that is against Liverpool. The only possible reason he played was he was to be banned for Newcastle United game and as they have been relegated he was allowed to play. The F.A must look into it.In the end it was a poor show by Liverpool, hey were the only club from the top four clubs to loose their first game.

LIVERPOOL VERSES REAL MADRID.

In the group of death in the group of 16 clubs Real Madrid faced Liverpool away. And the Real Madrids fans were more nervous of the two, the main reason was even after winning nine champion league games , they have failed to reach the quarter finals in the past four years would this be the fifth time they would miss out.?
This time Liverpool would be fresh of their
ess in the first leg, which ended in a 1-0 win for the reds.
Liverpool were determined to settle the game soon, and in the first thirty minutes, Liverpool outran, out played, outscored and the first goal was scored by Fernando Torres in the 16 th minute. Stephen Gerrard scored the second goal with a penalty and he added a third in the28th and 47th minute then Dossena than added the fourth in the 88th minute. The liverpool team won the game with a 5-0 on aggregate.
There could well be more goals for Liverpool, but it was Iker Casillas who stopped many shots.
The penalty was questinable as the ball hit a Liverpool player on the body and then struck Gabriel Heinze on the arm without hisknowledge. Real Madrid players protested long and hard , but for no use.
The other point was that Xavi Alanso comitted a fowl , and a bookable offense to, but the yellow card was shown to Javier Mascherano for kicking the ball, and Alanso got away scott free. Mascherano now misse the quarter final first leg match.
In the end Real Madrid have now failed to reach the quarter finals for the fifth straight year , I am sure some heads will role in the club.
