Lionel Messi the Argentinan footballer who plays his club football for the Spanish giants Barcelona, has won this years Ballon d Or award. The Europen footballer of the year. Messi scored a total of 473 votes, while Christiano Ronaldo ,last years winner came a distantsecond with 233 votes. Dider Drogba came third followed by Steven gerrard and Samuel Etoo came fifth.
Lionel Messi becomes the first Argentinan to wsin the Europen footballer of the year, even though Alberto de Stefano also won it when he played for Real Madrid. he was a Spanish citizen.And at the age of 22 years probably the youngest footballer of the year.
