Sir Alex Ferguson admitted to the press recently that he longed to sign Paulo Maldini from A.c. Milan some years ago. But it was turned down by Ceasere Maldini, Paulo Maldini s father. Maldini senior told Ferguson rather bluntly sorry not a chance. You see my father and myself played for A.c. Milan now it is Paulo Maldini who is playing for A.c. Milan.And he will play there only he will be a one club player , like your Ryan Giggs both great players in their own positions.
And when Paulo Maldini finally retires , which he did at the age of 40 years , it will be his sons turn to play for A.c. Milan. Now A.C Milan have withdrawn the famous 3 jersey worn by Paulo Maldini for 40 years. But the number will be given to Paulo Maldini son who is now in the youth team at A.C. Milan.
