The jab
ulani ball made by Adidas and used by F.I.F.A for the 2010 world cup was a bad ball. even when both said it was the best one for the world cup.
The test was done in France and Adelaide university. Mr Eric Berton the deputy director, institute of the science of motion has this to say. The ball has internal stitches, it is a sphere shape. So because of the shape the time on the contact is reduced. As a consequence the ball does not spin at all.The ball also rvels less far and will have afloating and unpredictable trajectory, whether for a striker or a goalkeeper. Even when a player wanted to head the ball it went the other way. There were only three free kicks that went in the net till the quarter finals.Goalkeeper call it a beachball.
In the end F.i.F.A had to admit that the ball was a bad one , but nothing could be done halfway in a world cup.
