WE SAY FAREWELL TO SOME GREAT FOOTBALLERS WHO RETIRED AFTER GLORIOUS CAREERS.

On 20/5/2013 at the end of the season we said our goodbyes to some very great and famous footballers who had long football careers with one club or with several clubs. 1) David Beckham retired at 38 years after playing in England, Spain, Italy and France.Who can ever forget his free kick goal verses Greece that helped England qualify for the world cup. 2) Paul Scholes, who played all his life for Manchester United , and even came out of retirement twice. In Alex Fergusons words . He has failed to find a controlling midfielder like Paul Scholes. 3) Jamie Caraghar , who played only for Liverpool in the defense, finally called it a day. 4) Stephen Harper the Newcastle Uniteds goalkeeper had to hang up his gloves at the age of thirty eight years. He lost many years sadly as the first choice goalkeeper , for years was Shay Given. And with Tim Krul in he decided to retire wisely. 5) Michel Owen , once the darling of Liverpool , till hamstring injuries came regularly for him.But who can forget the solo goal scored by Michael Owen in the 1998 world cup. 6) Lastly Sir Alex Ferguson who was manager for his 1,5000 game , sadly it was a 5-5 draw.. I personally I am grateful for the many happy football hours of joy given to us all. 7) This player and former captain of Aston Villa Stillyan Petrov was forced to retire very sadly from this beautiful game of football as he was fighting another battle Accute Leukemia, belived to have got from Chernobyl leak, as he is from Bulgaria.
