The Brazilian Luis Gustavo , was told by Bayern Munich that he would be a surplus at the German Club.
Arsenal were very keen and also reached a 14 million pounds for him. But sadly he refused to join Arsenal , and he joined a German club instead , the club was Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg finished eleventh in the table , in other words they were in the bottom half of the table of 20 clubs.
This makes no sense at all , as he has signed a five year contract with the club, he may not be considered for the world cup for Brazil. They would prefer a player in the top four clubs.
And Arsenal have played champion league for the past 16 years in a row.
