He has also rejected the efforts of Brendan Rodgers to bring him to Liverpool. Xavi Alonso played earlier for Liverpool under Rafael Benitez.
As he has one year left on his contract and he is already 31 years old now, Real Madrid will give him a one year contract, with another year extended.
Here we must understand that as he is Spanish he would like to remain in Spain.
