The agent of football manager Rafael Benitez has said that the Spanish giants Real Madrid twice came knocking at his door for the lucrative offer from Real Madrid in the year 2008, they then came back to try and get him from Liverpool in 2009. It is told by the agent that the Real Madrid president Fiorentina Perez flew down to Liverpool in a private jet and had talks.
