CRISTIANO RONALDO ALMOST SIGNED FOR ARSENAL IN 2003.

According to the DAILY MIRROR it was reported that Cristiano Ronaldo visited London in the year 2003. He was there to talk to Arsenal and Theirry Henry .He fell in love with Arsenal. And his agent Jorge Mendes has said he really thought that Cristiano Ronaldo would sign for Arsenal. But it fell through. But why did it fall through?The answer is that Arsenal did not have sufficient funds. Arsenal were in the process of building their famous EMIRATE STADIUM and so were short of cash, they were forced to sell their players like Theirry Henry to Barcelona Patrick Vieira to Juventus, Samir Nasri , Emmanuel Adebayor , Gael Glichy to Manchester City.All to generate funds to repay their mortgage for the Stadium . Then the rest is history Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United. Liverpool also failed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo with a offer of 5.7 million pounds.
