ARSENAL REACH THE GROUP OF SIXTEEN FOR THE SIXTEENTH TIME IN A ROW.

Arsenal have now reached the group of sixteen for the sixteenth year in a row. I wonder if any club has managed this in the Champion League history. But it was not all smooth sailing either. Arsenal lost their first round matches to Dinamo Zagrapp and to Olympiakos , but they won their match with Bayern Munich 2-0. But then Arsenal lost to Bayern Munich , and the last game with the Greek giants was important , Arsenal needing to score and win by two clear goals. Now the jersey of the Greek team was red and white stripes, Arsenal had to wear their third choice jersey dark blue., and Arsenal do badly when the players wear this third choice jersey. Before the whistle blew the Arsenal fans hearts sank. But it was the Arsenal tam did brilliantly , heir French striker Olivier Giroud scored a hattrick , his first in the champion league . But Arsenal won it with a 3-0 score line. Mesut Ozil was just fantastic as well, he out thought five Greek defenders in passing the ball to Joel Campbell who sent the ball for Olivier giroud to head it in. Arsenal fans remembered that every dark cloud has a silver lining. B
