FERNANDO TORRES IS TO LEAVE ATLETICO MADRID AT THE END OF THE SEASON.

The Spanish striker Fernando Torres who had played on two times for the Madrid club Atletico Madrid. He had joined Atletico Madrid youth Academy as a young boy , but sadly Atletico Madrid closed down their youth Academy, and some youngsters were sold out like Raul Gonzales , who was sold to Real Madrid , early in the 1990s. But when Arsenal wanted to buy Fernando Torres , Atletico Madrid refused to sell their youngster , saying they could not afford to sell out two young strikers in one year. Fernando Torres did well at Atletico Madrid , and was then sold to Liverpool, where he really did well, he was then sold out to Chelsea by Liverpool for a then record of 50, fifty million pounds. But sadly he was a very big flop at Chelsea. At Atletico Madrid Fernando Torres was called THE EL NINO, or THE KID. He scored a total of 128 goals for Atletico Madrid. Now at 34 , thirty four years he is finding it hard to get a starting place at Atletico Madrid, mainly due to Diego Costa moving from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid. Fernando Torres played sixteen years at Atletico Madrid, and he had big plans to retire from football at his boyhood club, but sadly that will not happen.
