THE GREAT GORDON BANKS DIES AT EIGHTY ONE YEARS..

The former England Leicester City, and Stoke City goalkeeper died on 12/2/2019, at the ripe old age of eighty one years , he died peacefully in his sleep. But he wa sadly suffering from Kidney cancer lately. Gordon Banks was also one of the heaviest goalkeepers, but that did not stop him from being one of the greatest goalkeepers ever. As he is ranked the second best goalkeeper ever, they are as follows 1) Lev Yashin, Russia, 2) Gordon Banks England 3) Dino Zoff Italy. Gordon Banks was the goalkeeper when England won their only world cup in 1966. But he is equally remembered for that goal save from a header by Pele , I the 1970 world cup, this save was so very good that for a minute Pele thought it was a goal, but it was saved by Gordon Banks. In fact this particular save has gone down in the football records as the save of the century, and football lovers still speak proudly about that greatest save ever. But things to a very sad turn for Gordon Banks and football, the great goalkeeper was involved in a car accident in the year 1972, and in which Gordon Banks lost a eye, bringing his glittering football career to a sad and sudden end. And it was a very dark and gloomy day for football as a whole, a great career cut sort b a tragedy.
