WHEN PELE HALTED THE NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR FOR FORTY EIGHT HOURS.
The Nigerian civil war ran in the 1960 but it ended in the year 1970 this war is also called the BIAFARA war.
But in the year 1967, the Brazilian football club Santos made a friendly tour of Nigeria, it was planned before the war really started in earnest.
But Pele was very famous footballer and in Nigeria he was called THE KING.
But what was really strange the warring parties decided to hold a ceasefire for a period of 48, forty eight hours.
So the Nigerians could see Pele and his Santos team play the GREEN EAGALES OF NIGERIA play a friendly game.
In history wars have stopped for many a strange reason biut not for football.
