Argentina have now gone and renamed the Argentina League cup, as the Diego Armando Maradona cup.
As their favorite son Diego Armando Maradona h, a world cup winner with Argentina in the year 1986. Had died in November 2020.
So this years inaugural cup was played by Boca Juniors. who defeated Banfield by penalties. The match originally ended 1-1 ,and the game moved to penalties.
Boca Juniors then won it 5-4 on penalties.
Diego Maradona had played for Boca Juniors.
