The March qualifiers for the South American world cup 2022 , has now been suspended.
As clubs in Europe were not willing to release heir South American footballers , mainly due to the strict quarantine rules in the U.K.
If the players had played at the world cup qualifiers they would have to spend ten to fourteen days in strict quarantine, which would have caused big problems for clubs in England.
There were about 12 twelve countries in South America in the red list of countries.
