But the president of the Spanish La Liga Javier Tebas introduced a salary cap in Spain for the clubs.
So big spenders had their yearly salary wage bill cut very sharply., for example the Barcelona wage b and salary cap was fixed at 160 one hundred and sixty million pounds.. from 557 , five hundred and fifty seven million pounds.
And if they failed to trim their ages bill ,Barcelona could not sign any new players. including Lionel Messi.
But please kindly understand Joan Laporta took the signed new contract which Lionel Messi signed ,to the La Liga to get the deal done.. But Javier Tebas refused to get the deal registered as Barceloa had not trimmed the salary cap to 160 million on pounds.
So neither Lionel Messi betrayed Barcelona, nor did Joan Laporta betray Barcelona,. Here Antoine Greizmann, Serge Busquet, Samuel Umtitti, Jordi Alba, and Serge Robert should be asked why they refused to have their salary cut. THEY STABBED BARCELONA.
