Gerard Pique has said that he would be retiring at he end of this season, but if Barcelona do need him he will be willing to extend his stay at Barcelona , for another year.
But e contract will be a new one with minimum wages which will be allowed by the La Liga rules.
Gerard Pique ill always remember him for his generosity when Barcelona were concerned. He took big pay cut to see to it that Eric Garcia , Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay , could be registered as Barcelona players for this season.
On the other hand Antoine Greizmann and Samuel Umtitti refused to me from Barcelona to another club Antoine Greizmann only wanted to move to Atletico Madrid. But with the salary cap in place in Spain, the club could not take him on loan as then Saul Niguez was on a loan deal to Chelsea. Samuel Umtitti wanted to move to a club playing in the champion league. This is the honest reason as these two people are responsible for Lionel messi failing to be re registered as Barcelona players.
