 Now Kareem Benzema, who is a French footballer, and his ancestors are from Algeria.

 He had joined the French club Lyon, as a youngster, and he progressed from the ranks at the Lyon.

 But then in the year 2009, two clubs came forward and showed interest in buying Kareem Benzema.

The clubs were Manchester United and Real Madrid.

 Now the president and owner of Lyon has come forward to say that even though Manchester United offered more money to buy Kareem Benzema, but in truth Karem Benzema only wanted to join Real Madrid, and he moved to Spain in 2009.
