It sounds rather strange that Manchester United and their noisy Neighbours Manchester City ,did play a cricket match and that was long, long ago.
The match was played in the month of July 1968.
And it was in the Matt Busy days.
Manchester United and Manchester City changed from their respective red and sky blue Jerseys to white shirts nd long pants.
And the inning was opened by the late George Best and Jack Crompton, the brother of Dennis Crompton, who played football for Arsenal as well. Sir Bobby Charlton was also there.
The match was won by Manchester City
But very sadly it was never held again as there was plenty of fan trouble.
