WINNING A WORLD CUP HAS MORE WEIGHT THAN WINNING A BALLOON D OR>

 Footballers who have gone and won a world cup in their career , always are spoken of in a higher level then a balloon d or winer. 

 for example, Lionel Messi won a total of 7, seven balloon d OR's  in his long and glittering career. but then he was always looked down as he had never won a world cup, Diego Maradona was treated like a mini God just because he wo the the world cup in the year 1986.

 Now after winning te world cup Lionel Messi is spoken like Diego Maradona in Argentina.

 Michael Platini won three balloon D OR's with Juventus, so e is not considered to be at the same level as Zinedine Zidane. Who won the world cup with France in1998.

 And both Johan Cruyff  and Diego Maradona played for Barcelona, but Diego Maradona is considered a better footballer than Johan Cruff  , as he has won a world cup.
