Last year we saw clubs like Chelsea. giving their new players long time contracts up to eight and even eight-and-a-half-year contracts to their new signed up players.
This method was used by clubs to dodge financial fair play rules.
But now U.E.F.A have made it mandatory that all clubs. will be allowed to sign up new players for only a five-year contract.
So what does happen to a club who signs a player for eight yeas or more? Only five years will nw be honored and those three yeas wil not be considered legal.
U.E.F.A have said thse contracts signed already for eight years will not be affected in any way.
