THE EURO 1964 IN SPAIN.

The EURO held in the host country SPAIN . And as usual in the early EURO CUPS there were only four countries taking part in the final. As there were only four countries taking part the venues were the two famous grounds of the two SPANISH giants REAL MADRIDS ground the BERNABEU and BARCELONAS ground THE NOU CAMP , each holding 79, 000 seats.

There were four teams in the tournament they were SPAIN, U.S.S.R,HUNGRY ,and DENMARK.

The top scorers were SPAINS JESUS MARIA PEREDA. FERENC BERNE of HUNGRY. and D. NOVAK of U.S.S.R. eaach scored2 goals each.
General FRANCO allowed SPAIN to play the U.S.S.R. as SPAIN had boycotted the 1960 EURO CUP.
SPAIN beat the U.S.S.R. 2 -1 with a late goal from Marccelino.
In the semifinal U.S.S.R beat DENMARK 3-0 in BAARCELONA. In the second semifinal SPAIN beat HUNGRY 2-1 at MADRID
In the third place play of HUNGRY beat DENMARK after extra time, with a score of 3 -1.
